THE FAMINE…destroyed

After two amazing albums and some killer live shows THE FAMINE has called it quits.  Vocalist Nick Howell posted this on the Facebook page:

“The Famine never should have existed.  I don’t mean that like when a jealous brother screams “I wish you were never born!” at his little sister.  What I mean is that we came together as a group of married thirty-somethings with kids and small businesses.  Our singer lived on the other side of the country.  It was a cumbersome proposition, but we made it work.  Most of you are familiar with the fire that claimed most of our equipment and the departure of our vocalist about a year ago.  We should have never been able to make our last record, but we did.  This brings us to the present day…” More

HXC+NEWS (01/30/11)

AUGUST BURNS RED will be heading into the studio with Jason Suecof at Audio Hammer Studios outside of Orlando on February 14th to begin recording their upcoming fourth album.  ”We can’t wait to get back to Florida to start recording with Suecof,” says guitarist JB Brubaker. “We’re just about finished writing and it’s shaping up to be a huge sounding album. I can’t ever recall feeling this excited to get started when getting ready for past albums.”

THE FAMINE have posted another new song, “A Fragile Peace” from their upcoming release The Architects Of Guilt.  Listen

CALL TO PRESERVE are calling it quits after eight years and three albums.  The band will play a few remaining shows and release a vinyl EP later in the year.

CLOSE YOUR EYES and I THE BREATHER are heading out on the road this February.
